Genshin Impact – Hu Tao Artifact & Weapon Analysis

Intro:

After we’ve obtained the optimal artifact set, next, I will test out her performance on different weapons.

What’s in this analysis?

1. Comparison between 9 different weapons:

• Staff of Homa (5★)
  • Additional attack based on 0.8% of max HP is active.
• Primordial Jade Spear (5★)
  • Will be assumed to be in full stack, +22.4% attack and +12% damage.
• Vortex Vanquisher (5★)
  • Will be assumed to be in full stack and with shield, giving +40% attack.
• Deathmatch
  • +24% Attack passive is active.
• Blackcliff Polearm
  • + 36% attack passive is active.
• Lithic Spear
  • +12% Crit Rate and +28% Attack passive is active.
• Dragon’s Bane
  • +20% damage passive is always active.
  • EM substat will be considered on melt calculation.
• Starglitter
  • +8% damage is active during pyro infusion.
  • ER% substat will be considered on burst DPS.
• R5 White Tassel (3★)

1. Comparison between 4 artifact sets:

• 4-Gladiator’s Finale
• 4-Crimson Witch
• 4-Lavawalker
• 2 Crimson Witch + 2 Noblesse Oblige

All of them will have HP/Pyro/Crit as main stat.

Assumptions:

The calculations below will follow the following assumptions:

1. Hu Tao is lv90.
2. The enemy is one lv80 hilichurl.
3. Talent lv6, C0.
4. All hits crit.
5. Attack sequence would be: 5-hit + charged attack.
6. On pyro-infused calculations, it will be assumed 3 sequences is done, and 2 sequences will be done during skill cooldown.
7. Pyro is always present on the enemy for Lavawalker to proc.
8. Her HP will be assumed to always be above 50%.

Attack = (1-hit to 5-hit + Charged) x 3
Attack (No infusion) = (1-hit to 5-hit + Charged) x 2
Skill = Skill x 4
Total = Attack + Attack (No infusion) + Skill + Burst
Total DPS = (Attack / 9) + (Attack (No infusion) / 7) + (Skill / 16) + (Burst / 40)
Switch Total = Attack + Skill + Burst
Switch DPS = (Attack / 9) + (Skill / 16) + (Burst / 40)

Putting the damage from best to worst, and we have:

Here, Crimson out-damage Crimson+Noblesse by a VERY small amount (1 to 2 damage).

Conclusion:

1. Staff of Homa is the best weapon for her (Surprise, surprise).

So this is the best weapon for Hu Tao:

Best Weapon for Burst DPS:

5. Lithic Spear.
6. Vortex Vanquisher (5★).
7. Dragon’s Bane.
8. Blackcliff Polearm (0 stack).

Personal Opinion:

I’m surprised Vortex is ranking really badly!

Although, of course, it makes sense because Hu Tao can’t optimally obtain the attack bonus due to the low base attack.

As for the rest of the weapon, they’re mostly expected. Although White Tassel surprised me. I guess her low base attack means White Tassel can shine further xD
